How do we come to know another human being, a natural phenomenon, or the world around us? Rather than relying solely on analysis, categorisation, or preconceived ideas, Goethean observation cultivates careful attention, sensory awareness, openness, and a living relationship with what is being observed.
Participants will explore observation as both a pedagogical practice and a path of enquiry. The module also explores the teacher’s role as researcher and the importance of developing perceptive, responsive, and reflective educational practice.

Assessment
Create an artistic portfolio from your observation study notes taken during our sessions. Included will be an overview, observational records, artistic work, reflective commentary, insights arising from the observation process, and consideration on how to apply this method to other phenomena.
