PD 4-17:      Saturday, 13th May 2017, 8.30am – 1.30pm

Mathematics in Classes 5 & 6

Over the 2 days we will provide philosophical and practical advice for the professional art of teaching Mathematics in the upper primary years

  • The deeper meaning of MATHEMATICA as a virtue (Friday only)
  • Mathematical concepts and their relationship to child development
  • Circle games, movement and rhythm
  • Practical activities for the classroom
  • Meeting individual needs of students
  • The interplay between Main Lesson and Practice Lesson
  • Merit and methods of proper assessment



Greg Noakes

Gregorio Noakes has been involved in Steiner Education for more than 30 years. He has been a class teacher for most of that period while also being involved in adult education. Since moving to Melbourne Gregorio has worked in a number of Victorian schools delivering workshops and mentoring or coaching staff. He is passionate about our education movement and merges contemporary research with best practice in Steiner Schools.

Wolfgang Maschek

Wolfgang Maschek is a full time tutor at the MRS Seminar. He can look back at over 30 years of classroom experience (Steiner and Main Stream) and many years of actively providing teacher education, mentoring and professional development.
