Class Teacher Network Meetings & Professional Development starting February 2015
Melbourne Rudolf Steiner Seminar invites all teachers (both in Steiner and mainstream schools) to a series of forthcoming Class Teacher Network Meetings & Professional Development sessions.
The Melbourne Rudolf Steiner Seminar continues to support the professional development of teachers. In term 1-2015 we offer 3 Saturday mornings for class teachers. Each morning will start with a key note speaker providing inspiration and activities addressing classroom management and curriculum. These presentations will be followed by discussion groups for class teachers in order to share experiences, challenges, solutions and inspirations. Seminar staff will be present to assist with specific questions or concerns arising out of your day to day experience.
1. Saturday 28th Feb 2015, Class 1 & 2 teachers
Sue Gould: Movement and gestures in the classroom
Wolfgang Maschek: Holistic classroom management.
2. Saturday 14th Mar 2015, Class 3 & 4 teachers
Wolfgang Maschek: Elements of Literacy in Class 3 & 4: Grammar & spelling taught through imagination
3. Saturday 21st March 2015, Class 5 & 6 teachers
Pauline David: Science in Class 5 & 6: Relating it to the human being – plants, minerals, light and sound
The above sessions will address Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APTS) and will be certified as such.

- Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
- Create and maintain supportive, safe learning environments
- Engage in professional learning.
